Hearst Tower - New York

Holcim Cement Plant - Bloomsdale, MO

The cranes now known as the TG series were first introduced in the mid 1970's by FMC Link Belt.  The development of the TG cranes resulted from the massive expansion of electric power generating plants in the United States.

The original development task was to design and build a crane that would serve the specialized needs of power plant construction.  Site congestion, steel and mechanical erection sequencing and heavy lifting requirements were the predominant problems which historically required a bewildering diversity of lifting equipment.

Cranes were needed that consumed little space, were fast for the erection of steel and for moving mechanical components, and which were capable of heavy lifting for setting power plant equipment such as generators.  The resulting climbing crane, by virtue of its patented ability to move, unassisted, from the tower to the roof of the building, not only solved these problems but provided a new and unique approach to power plant construction.

The speed and capacity of the TG series cranes has found strong acceptance in additional applications including construction of high rise buildings, dams, bridges, deep shaft tunnels, offshore oil platforms, sports facilities and dockside construction and material handling.
